Congress organisers

Lodz University of Technology offers a range of courses (43 both at Bachelor and Master level) covering all aspects of engineering. The University employs 1234 academic teachers of who 221 are professors. The University has been admitted ECTS label as one of the first in Poland. The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering trains architects at Bachelor and Master level, both in Polish and in the English language. Other courses cover Spatial Economy and Spatial Planning (a new course both at Bachelor and Master level) and Urban Rehabilitation – Master level course done in collaboration with the University of Lodz. The campus of Lodz University of Technology is located centrally with several new buildings which might accommodate various educational and research activities.

University of Lodz with about 40 thousand students and the Lodz University of Technology, with about 18 thousand students are leading universities shaping present life in the city and region. They were started soon after WW II in 1945. The University of Lodz is one of the biggest employers in the city with its 3983 workers (among them 2355 academic teachers and researchers with 222 full professors). With 12 Faculties, 80 courses and 167 teaching specialities, University of Lodz is one of the most prominent Universities in Poland. At the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, urban morphology has a long tradition, started by prof Marek Koter and prof Mariusz Kulesza. At present Faculty of Geographical Sciences offers Master and Bachelor degrees or certificates in urban planning, geography, tourism, geomonitoring and geoinformatics and postgraduate studies. The University campus is about 2 kilometres from downtown, accessed by a convenient light rail system.

Cracow University of Technology has been training engineering staff for seventy-four years. An educational offer of CUT includes 29 majors of undergraduate and graduate programmes, conducted at 7 faculties.  Currently, the university educates 14.5 thousand students with a staff of 1 200 researchers and tutors. On the program of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Spatial Management  – both on BSc and MSc levels – we have over 1.5 thousand students. Faculty of Architecture is one of Polish accredited by Polish Accreditation Committee, Accreditation Committee of Technical Schools, European Union and RIBA.
